I grew up on a soybean farm in Ohio, and signed my yearbooks “Great Author of the Future” in high school. However, the success of The Princess and the Kiss still amazes me.

The story poured out after my daughter came home agonizing over the fact that all her girlfriends had boyfriends—in kindergarten. I realized I couldn’t wait for a “big talk” in the teen years, and I got on my knees. God provided an age-appropriate way to teach young children about purity and the importance of “saving themselves for marriage;” I just held the pen.

The unexpected response to The Princess and The Kiss catapulted me into a speaking and teaching effort to bring the message of biblical purity to children and parents alike. The Princess and The Kiss was followed by a companion Life Lessons devotional book for mothers and daughters. Then, The Squire and the Scroll, a book for boys, was published, and a Life Lessons for boys followed it..

I’ve written other books that celebrate purity, marriage and family, and I speak internationally on those subjects at parent/child banquets, churches, crisis pregnancy gatherings and missions events.

My family is my joy. Randy is a composer and worship leader, and my two daughters are absolutely amazing young women.
